Conserving resources and reducing CO₂ emissions are among the key challenges of our time. For silver plastics®, responsible resource management and environmental stewardship are also integral to our business practices.
In the production of our plastic packaging, we continuously work to further develop material usage, production processes and packaging solutions, and to reduce environmental impacts where this is technically and economically feasible.
One focus is on the development of mono-material packaging and the increased use of recycled materials to support the conditions for functioning recycling cycles.

GoldenFibres offers packaging solutions made from natural fibers. Agricultural residues are mechanically processed and transformed into trays.
No edible raw materials that can be directly used as food for humans are used in the production process.
Depending on the product and the applicable disposal conditions, the packaging can be biodegraded or composted after use.
CARBON FOOTPRINT
The carbon footprint is an important tool for recording and comparing greenhouse gas emissions associated with products, services or business activities.
silver plastics® reports relevant operating figures annually and participates in the sustainability report of the IK – German Association for Plastics Packaging and Films.
The data we collect helps us to make developments visible and to identify potential for reducing resource consumption and emissions.
SAVE FOOD
For us, taking responsibility also means looking beyond our own production.
As a manufacturer of food packaging, we contribute to protecting food during transport, storage and sale.
silver plastics® supports the “SAVE FOOD” initiative and is committed to solutions that can help reduce food losses along the supply chain and reliably protect products.

We were awarded the Gold Medal by EcoVadis, placing us among the top 5% of companies assessed by EcoVadis at the time of the evaluation. An important component of our understanding of sustainability is the assessment of our CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) performance.
To this end, we undergo an annual assessment by the sustainability rating platform EcoVadis. This allows us to create transparency regarding our sustainability performance and provide our customers with relevant information about our rating.
ASSOCIATION WORK
Besides numerous other associations, we are particularly active in association work with the IK - Industrievereinigung Kunststoffverpackungen eV (German Association of Plastics Packaging Manufacturers) .
Here, in various working groups and specialist groups, we primarily focus on the topic of sustainability in order to jointly find new and innovative solutions for the future of our environment.
ASSOCIATION WORK
In addition to numerous other associations and the association work at IK - Industrievereinigung Kunststoffverpackungen eV, we are also represented in various expert groups at the central office for the packaging register .
With topics such as the design of a recycling-friendly product, sustainability is clearly the focus here as well.
Fresh food
should not be a privilege.
The Troisdorf food bank collects surplus food and distributes it to people in need. To ensure that fruits and vegetables can be transported and distributed safely, we regularly donate suitable food packaging.
In this way, we support the important work of the food bank and at the same time contribute to combating food waste.
