Backing boards are lightweight yet dimensionally stable cutouts made of expanded polystyrene (XPS). They were specifically developed for packaging smoked salmon, trout, and other fish products.
 

The XPS structure absorbs any leaking product liquids and binds them within the material. The even distribution of the liquid allows the packaging to be displayed and stored both horizontally and vertically.

 

This keeps the product clearly visible and supports an appealing presentation in stores.

 

Our backing boards are specially designed for fish applications and can be manufactured – depending on requirements – for MAP applications as well as with film lamination and individual printing.
